The activity “Aji Volunteer”

Ajinomoto Foundation together with Ajinomoto Board (Thailand) Co., Ltd., volunteers, and Chiang Rai Rural Development Camp from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, built an 11×11 meter multipurpose building for the Nimit Mai Foundation at Mae Lao district, Chiang Rai province During 21 – 24 October 2012. The volunteers and the students of the camp cooperated to help build the building for the children. In addition, all the volunteers had a lot of fun activities, which improved the relationship between volunteers, e.g. cooking together for children. Everybody got their stomachs full and happy every day while in the camp.

Construction of the building continued until the building was completed, so the students had a new building for study and other activities. The building was officially open on October 24, 2012, led by Mr. Phichien Koosmith, Vice President of Ajinomoto Foundation, Mr. Suchat Naksawek, Ajinomoto Foundation Secretary. Miss Sunee Sritawong, president of the Nimit Mai Foundation, was the representative to receive the building, with orphans, volunteers, and community to witness the ceremony. The event was filled with pride and smiles from both the givers and the receivers. This volunteer camp was definitely memorable for the children of Nimit Mai Foundation forever.
