Background:
The Ajinomoto Foundation has collaborated with academic associations in three fields: the Thailand Biotechnology Association, the Nutrition Association of Thailand, and the Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand, to carry out a project awarding outstanding researchers in three areas: biotechnology, nutrition, and food science and technology. The project began by awarding prizes in the field of biotechnology in 1991. Later, it expanded to include awards for researchers in the field of nutrition in 2014 and in the field of food science and technology in 2015, respectively.

Objectives:
To promote and encourage researchers in biotechnology, nutrition, and food science and technology to continuously develop their research and apply their work to advance industry and Thai society. Additionally, the project aims to honor researchers who have dedicated themselves as exemplary role models and to disseminate their valuable research to the public.

Implementation Guidelines:
The Ajinomoto Foundation will collaborate with the Thailand Biotechnology Association, the Nutrition Association of Thailand, and the Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand to identify and select outstanding researchers who have consistently dedicated themselves to research and contributed to the fields of biotechnology, nutrition, and food science and technology for the benefit of Thai society. Awards will be given to one outstanding researcher in each of the three fields annually: biotechnology, nutrition, and food science and technology.
