The corporate social responsibilities of Ajinomoto Group in Thailand have started since 1960, during the period in which the company established its first factory in Thailand. Such activities have been continuously practiced since then. Upon the establishment, Ajinomoto products have increased in popularity. Once the company’s investment has become profitable, Ajinomoto began to consider its contribution towards the employees, Thai people, and Thai community. In the social aspect, the company shares a portion of its profits for the social benefits, which include donations to the organizations under the patronage of his Majesty the King Rama 9, donations to the Thai Red Cross Society, and donations to various hospitals. In the company’s perspective, social responsibilities are regarded as important as the responsibilities towards its employees, since there are many people who need help in a variety of aspects. As a consequence, Ajinomoto Foundation was established in 1971. However, at that time, the foundation could not be fully established, so the social responsibilities had to be operated under the activities of the company.
